Hey guys, I just thought that today I would share with you some quotes about photography (and a few other things) that I like. P.S, I'm a quote person so this might a long list.
You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it. ~Author Unknown
No place is boring, if you've had a good night's sleep and have a pocket full of unexposed film. ~Robert Adams, Darkroom & Creative Camera Techniques, May 1995
It's weird that photographers spend years or even a whole lifetime, trying to capture moments that added together, don't even amount to a couple of hours. ~James Lalropui Keivom
The camera can photograph thought. ~Dirk Bogarde
There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs. ~Ansel Adams
When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence. ~Ansel Adams
Buying a Nikon doesn't make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner. ~Author Unknown
Everyone has a photographic memory, but not everyone has film. ~Author Unknown
One photo out of focus is a mistake, ten photo out of focus are an experimentation, one hundred photo out of focus are a style. ~Author Unknown
Here are just some general quotes that I like:
Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss
You can't make footprints in the sands of time by sitting on your butt, and who wants to make buttprints in the sands of time. ~ Bob Moawad
Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. ~Pablo Picasso
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso
Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better. ~André Gide
All quotes are copied from here, I liked them all before but that's where they are if you want to find more like them.

Mmmmmm... Shrimp
Last night I made shrimp for dinner, and since it is one of my favorite shrimp dishes I will share with you the recipe, and a picture of course :)
Recipe: serving amounts vary based on how much rice is eaten with it.
1/2 a regular 8oz can of coconut milk
1 cup of shrimp
1 cup of rice
curry
coriander
cumin
paprika
garlic
those last five ingredients don't have measurements because you need to add as much or as little as you like (a good amount is when after you add the spices to the coconut milk it starts to turn orange)
Start cooking the rice, either in a pan or in a rice cooker. In a medium-ish pan, heat up the coconut milk at medium heat. While the milk is heating peel the shrimp. After the milk is heated add spices and mix till the milk is orange. Add the shrimp to the pan and cover for five minutes, lower the heat just a bit. Then flip each shrimp over they should be nice and shrimpy-pink, cook for another 4-5 minutes. Put the rice on a dish and scoop shrimp and coconut sauce over top. Mmmmmm......

The photo
Okay so in my first post i said I'd tell you how I edited that photo in the first post. Now before I start I want you to know that I am not an expert on photography or Photoshop (i just like it a lot.)
So here's what i did:
1. I took the picture at night in a dark room
2. I lit it with the light from my Ipod
3. Using a remote shutter release (to avoid camera shake)
4. Then I took the picture and as the picture was being taken I moved my Ipod up and down to evenly light to vase
5. I then loaded it to my computer and in "camera raw" i changed to white balance setting to fix some of that blueish color you get from lighting things with an ipod
And that's it it's super easy and depending on what the shutter speed on the camera is and how bright your Ipod is you can get some nifty results.
here is my before picture
and the edited one
Camera Settings
Aperture: 4.5
ISO: 200
Shutter Speed: 3 seconds
Camera Raw Editing numbers
White balance temperature: 13500
White balance tint: +5
Exposure: +2.20
everything else, can vary depending on the photo
Have fun and i'd love to see some of your results!

Post about my first post
Hey, sorry about yesterdays post it was kinda ...blah... in my opinion, so I apologize. But i have come to realize that first posts will always be the weirdest. But you need to have a first before a second, after you get that first one done you can post what you want to post. With the exception of this post because it was about the first post, so I' will be into some sort of routine soon.
